Musique Municipale de Meyrin

The Musique Municipale de Meyrin was founded in 1908 by some young people in the village of Meyrin. In our archives there are many posters of literary, dramatic and musical plays. The musicians in 1930 played during the concert and then went up on stage to play some drama parts!
In the sixties jazz musicians from different bands have increased the formation in number and brought a style of music ever played in a band in Geneva. The success of Glenn Miller, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington and the Beatles (1970) gives recognition to our work.
In 1970, the first woman became member of the group who was exclusively male. In the same decade, the music school born .
Today we have about 40 players that continue to delight audiences with our different musical genres.
