Big Band Orchestra ‘C. Colombi’ Prà

The School and the Band Carlo Colombi is one of the oldest and most prestigious music associations of Liguria; was founded in Prà, October 31, 1869 as “Municipal Philharmonic Society”. The association Praese since its establishment stands out for the quality of its repertoire of classical music and opera, obtaining numerous statements in the then popular competitions among wind orchestras. Since 1970, while maintaining the traditional banda activity at parades, festivals and religious processions, the C.Colombi turns into a veritable modern orchestra with the inclusion, in addition to the traditional wind instruments, of a rhythm section consisting in piano, guitar, electric bass, drums and percussion, as well as an audio system mixing and amplification professional.
The Big Band, conducted by Fulvio Di Clemente, percussionist, trumpeter and jazz trombonist of great experience, with its staff of more than 20 members, can offer to the public a vast repertoire of modern music ranging from swing / jazz South America, the classical themes arranged in a modern key.
The Big Band has successfully held several concerts in Liguria also participated, by invitation, to important musical events.
