Filarmonica of Recco was founded in 1850. After the 1st world war was named “Filarmonica G. Rossini” and in some years became a very harmonious group who won in 1952 the Band Competition of Lavagna. It started the “Music school activity”, with classes formed by many young which are part of the orchestra. Active in cultural exchanges and twin band with italian and stranger groups, and in 1992 participated in Genoa at the opera “Ulisse and the white whale”, directed and interpreted by Vittorio Gassman with music by Nicola Piovani. In 1996 won the seconda prize at the National Competition of Lavagna. The Filarmonica of Recco partecipated in every edition of the International Music Festival of Genoa. Had the honour to have play in in The Carlo Felice Genoa Opera House in 2002 and in 2005. Since 1995 the music school and the band are directed by Maestro Marco Capurro.
