Jeppo Ungdomsorkester (JUO) is a symphonic wind orchestra, founded in 1975. The orchestra consists of about 80 musicians divided into two levels. The activities are planned and carried out by an active committee. The basic principle is that everyone who wants to play can participate. The musicians come from Jeppo and Nykarleby with surroundings at the finnish west coast. The orchestra strives to give all musicians continuos training and individual teaching in order to reach a good musical proficiency.

JUO strives to keep a high profile by organizing concerts and participating in international competitions and festivals. JUO has carried out more than 20 tours around Europe and has received many distinguished honours. For example in 2017 JUO was awarded an golden diploma and a sixth place in the finnish championships and also had a concert trip to Croatia. The orchestra has a wide repertory with everything from classical masterpieces to jazz and pop. The latest CD recording with JUO, Sessions, is from 2015 where the orchestra cooperates with several excellent artists and musicians via various concert projects.
This is JUOs fourth visit to the friends in Filarmonica Sestrese and the International festival in Genova.
